01 / Selected work

Built for real
product challenges.

Shared foundations, complex workflows, and the frontend decisions behind them.

Design systems / Enterprise interfaces

One component library. Every microfrontend.

Microfrontend applications needed a shared UI foundation. A transfer pricing workflow also needed to move beyond spreadsheets.

My contribution
I owned the company-wide UI component library and built the transfer pricing frontend, including multi-entity data models, validation-heavy forms, calculation results, and audit trails.
Engineering decisions
I brought design tokens, theming, accessibility, and Storybook documentation into the shared library so teams could build on the same components.
Outcome
The library was consumed by every microfrontend application, eliminating duplicated component code. The transfer pricing platform replaced a spreadsheet-based process.

REI Blackbook

Real estate / SaaS platform

Real estate, working together.

Running a real estate business meant juggling disconnected systems. REI Blackbook brings that work into one place.

My contribution
I helped build REI Blackbook’s product interfaces, bringing investors’ day-to-day business workflows into a single platform.
Product approach
Connect everyday workflows through a shared interface, reducing the friction of moving between separate tools.
Outcome
Less tool switching. Less technical overhead. One place for investors to manage their day-to-day work.

LAAM

E-commerce / Platform development

Built from scratch. PKR 2M+ in daily sales.

LAAM needed a system to run its e-commerce business from the ground up, along with better tools for understanding sales as it grew.

My contribution
I built LAAM’s system from scratch, working directly with leadership to help the business reach PKR 2 million+ in daily sales. I also built internal analytics dashboards and mentored junior engineers as the team grew.
Engineering decisions
I established frontend conventions as the team scaled and replaced manual reporting with dedicated analytics views, giving leadership faster access to sales data.
Outcome
The system supported the business as it grew to PKR 2 million+ in daily sales. The dashboards also halved sales-analysis turnaround time.

Personal exploration

Personal AI Assistant

Runs locally on my computer for my own use. No external users or public deployment.

A small space to explore how software can help with everyday tasks.

  • Built a personal assistant that accepts spoken input and responds by voice.
  • Added on-screen drawing to help explain how to use software.
  • Enabled actions such as controlling Spotify and changing system settings, alongside research assistance.
  • Connected the assistant to Google Sheets, Calendar, Docs, and Obsidian, with support for connecting additional apps.

05 / A little about me

A builder.
Always learning.

I’m Muhammad Samiullah, a senior frontend engineer based in Munich, Germany. Since June 2019, I’ve worked on e-commerce tools, design systems, and enterprise applications.

I enjoy making complicated workflows easier to use and giving teams reliable components to build with. Alongside frontend work, I use Claude and Codex in development and explore voice interaction through my local personal assistant.

The story behind the work

I grew up in a small town with limited access to technology and wanted to become a software engineer. Moving to a larger city for college was a big adjustment. Learning to code helped me find my direction.

That experience still shapes how I work: ask questions, learn deliberately, and keep building.
